TSRA Schools & Events
When we're not focusing on conservation and access builds we like to teach new and upcoming paddlers skills both in paddling technique and water safety. TSRA offers several paddling clinics/schools from beginner to intermediate, flatwater to Class III whitewater. To help reinforce these skills we lead various trips throughout the year. Intro to Kayak Fishing
Learn the basics a beginning paddler/experienced angler or an experienced paddler/beginning angler would need to feel safe, comfortable, and knowledgeable on the water
Bridge the gap between paddling flat water and safely navigating Class I rivers. Learn paddling techniques that will help navigate water hazards in moving water. Establish a skill base that can help you to progress from Class I to more challenging rivers.
Whitewater Canoe & Kayak School
Grouped by skill level each group will have tailored instruction to the needs and wants of the student. Covering terminology and river signals; stroke work, self and assisted rescue; fundamentals of river features; whitewater practice such as eddy turns, ferries and surfing; assessing current environmental conditions; and paddling group dynamics.
An entry-level safety and rescue class for kayakers, canoeists, and stand-up paddlers who plan on paddling flat water lakes and slow moving rivers.

Learn how to help yourself and your paddling friends whenever you run into trouble on a whitewater river. Learn how to throw and catch a throw rope, simple mechanical advantage, swimming with and without your boat/paddle, wade in current and other boat-based rescue techniques.
Whitewater enthusiasts participate in hazardous activities in wilderness environments. Are you prepared to rescue yourself or your best paddling friend? Are they prepared to rescue you? Help in many cases may not be
immediately available, and might be hours (not minutes) away.
