On every 3rd Saturday of each month TSRA will be leading a Flatwater to Class 1 paddle trip. Location will be determined a week or two out and updated on the calendar. Basic paddling skills, training and gear are a prerequisite for all registrants. Life Jackets (PFD) will be worn at all times on the water. No alcohol during trip. These trips will all be weather dependent. If conditions are too harsh, we will reschedule as needed.
3rd Saturday paddle October 19th 2024_ Woodhaven Lake in Montgomery Bell Park
Woodhaven Lake is the largest of three lakes located in the Montgomery Bell State Park. The 42-acre reservoir is small enough to be protected from wind and wave conditions, and only canoes, kayaks and paddle boards are permitted on the lake (no swimming).
Hiking is very popular in the park with trails of varying length. After the paddle if you want to, stay for some hiking around the park.
Fall colors should be starting to look seasonal by this week.
The park is located 7 miles east of Dickson TN, on US 70. The park can be accessed from the north off Hwy 70 or from the south off State Route 47. The lake is off Jackson Hill Rd which cuts through the park.
