Registration is closed

On every 3rd Saturday of each month TSRA will be leading a Flatwater to Class 1 paddle trip. Location will be determined a week or two out and updated on the calendar. Basic paddling skills, training and gear are a prerequisite for all registrants. Life Jackets (PFD) will be worn at all times on the water. No alcohol during trip. These trips will all be weather dependent. If conditions are too harsh, we will reschedule as needed.

The Caney River TN. (Class I) Saturday, September 21st, 2024.

We will paddle 8.7 river miles from Center Hill Dam to Betty’s Island access.

Meet at the put in at the Dam at 9:00 AM.

Direction to put in (Center Hill Dam):

Exit off I-40 at Buffalo Valley Exit 268 just west of Cookeville. Turn south onto Buffalo Valley Rd (Medley Amonet Rd). Travel 4.7 miles to Intersection of Hwy 141. (Caney Fork Outdoors Tackle Shop is on the right). Turn right on Hwy 141 and travel short distance until the next right turn at sign for “Resource Managers/Visitors Information. Drive past managers office to boat launch area and parking lot at end of road.

Directions to take out 8 miles (Betty’s Island access.)

Go back out to Hwy 141. Turn right and travel over the Dam. Take an immediate right onto Hwy 141 (Lancaster Hwy.). Go approximately 4 miles to a right turn on Betty’s Bend Road. Go about 2.5 miles. Turn right on St. Mary’s Road (Stonewall Club Springs Rd). Take an immediate right turn into Betty’s Bend access area.
