On every 3rd Saturday of each month TSRA will be leading a Flatwater to Class 1 paddle trip. Location will be determined a week or two out and updated on the calendar. Basic paddling skills, training and gear are a prerequisite for all registrants. Life Jackets (PFD) will be worn at all times on the water. No alcohol during trip. These trips will all be weather dependent. If conditions are too harsh, we will reschedule as needed.
This trip is a make up from last month that was postponed until August.
The Elk River TN. (Class I) August 17th, 2024 (Saturday)
We will paddle 12 river miles from Elkton TN - US 31 Bridge (put in) to Prospect TN - Veto Rd Bridge (take out).
Meet at the put in at US 31 bridge on the Elk River at 9:00 AM.
Directions to put in:
Take I-65 south. Take the TN-273/Bryson Rd, EXIT 6, toward Elkton Tn. Turn Right south/west onto Bryson Rd/TN-273. Continue 1.5 mile then turn Left south/east onto Elkton Pike/US-31 S/TN-7/TN-273. Continue 1.5 miles to Bridge over Elk River. Cross bridge and the put in is on the right.
Directions to take out:
Travel back north .6 mile on US-31 and turn Left west on TN-273 (Prospect Elkton Rd) toward Prospect. Travel 6.5 miles and turn Left south on Veto Rd. Travel .75 mile to bridge over Elk River. Cross bridge and the takeout is on the right.
