On every 3rd Saturday of each month TSRA will be leading a Flatwater to Class 1 paddle trip. Location will be determined a week or two out and updated on the calendar. Basic paddling skills, training and gear are a prerequisite for all registrants. Life Jackets (PFD) will be worn at all times on the water. No alcohol during trip. These trips will all be weather dependent. If conditions are too harsh, we will reschedule as needed.

For this months paddle for April 20th I will be joining a trip with the "Paddling Buds" group. It will be a Paddle and Hike to Machine Falls and Busby Falls located at Short Springs Natural Area on Normandy Lake in Tullahoma TN.

We will  access Normandy Lake at the "Fire Lake Boat Ramp" and paddle about 4 miles by lake to Bobo Creek in the "Short Springs Natural Area". We'll paddle up as far as we can paddle then hike in to see the falls.

Here is the write up for the trip from Paddle Buds coordinator William Wolff.

"We'll paddle about 4 miles to the Short Springs Natural area where you will find Machine Falls and Busby Falls on Bobo Creek. We will paddle as far as we can then a short hike to the 2 falls. You can hike and explore as long as you want and return when you are ready to Fire Lake boat ramp. Please return in groups of 3 or more. Be sure to bring your lunch. This is a lake paddle so there is no shuttle needed. If you are not sure of the location here are the coordinates (35.44379208443016, -86.18446149377046)"
