Rendezvous starts on April 3rd at noon and runs through Sunday, April 7th  There is a lot of excitement and discussion about everyone looking forward to paddling and fellowship at the event at Camp Nakanawa.  We will be offering opportunities on easy to challenge rivers, but always subject to what Mother Nature delivers in terms of rainfall on the free flowing rivers on the Cumberland Plateau in early April!

Rendezvous is TSRA’s family-friendly paddling celebration and annual fundraiser. Paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill level meet at Camp Nakanawa in Crossville, Tennessee. Then, over the course of five days, groups large and small spill out across the Cumberland Plateau and surrounding areas to tackle their favorite adventures.

The escarpment known as The Appalachian Plateau extends from Maine all the way to central Alabama. Somewhere in the middle is our own Cumberland Plateau, spanning from the brow of Kentucky to just south of Birmingham. We are fortunate to have this paddling treasure just 80 or so miles outside Nashville, and we’re blessed by our relationship with the fine folks at Camp Nakanawa. At an elevation of 2,000 feet, Nakanawa enjoys clean, fresh mountain air. We can’t think of a better place to hold our annual paddling event.

Paddling trips ranging from Class I flatwater to Class IV whitewater are organized and led by experienced trip leaders. But that’s not all! Just steps away from your cabin, beautiful Mayland Lake is available for a relaxing paddle or roll practice. And there are opportunities for hikers, cyclists, shoppers and bird watchers. Scenic areas abound if you prefer a driving tour. And there are rocking chairs galore for just hanging out at the Wigwam.

A silent auction kicks off Friday night. And Saturday is the highly energetic live auction. Both auctions offer ample opportunity to go home with some new and used-but-still-useful gear, handcrafted items, art and more – while supporting TSRA’s mission of conservation, access, education and fun!

This much-anticipated event welcomes new faces as well as old-timers who’ve been attending Rendezvous for 20+ years. They know the ropes and are happy to share their knowledge and expertise.

Start the New Year off right by registering early. This will help ensure your cabin assignment and lets our camp hosts know how much food to prepare. Your registration includes cozy accommodations in the camp’s rustic cabins, weekend breakfast and dinner (if you choose the meal plan), and all weekend activities.
